Get ready for a fashion extravaganza as London Fashion Week (LFW) returns with a bang for the Fall/Winter 2026 season! This year, the event promises to be bigger and bolder, with a packed schedule and a renewed focus on international visibility.
The British Fashion Council (BFC), the driving force behind LFW, is determined to rebuild its scale and reputation on the global fashion stage. And they're not holding back!
"This season is all about momentum and confidence," declares BFC CEO Laura Weir, who's leading her second LFW. The official lineup boasts an impressive 90 designers and organizations, including 41 runway shows and 20 presentations - an 11% increase from last year. And the buzz is palpable, with confirmed press attendance up a whopping 36% and buyers up 17%, according to the BFC.
But here's where it gets interesting... the expanded schedule doesn't just mean more shows; it signifies London's determination to pack a punch and leave a lasting impression. Traditionally, Thursday is a lighter day, reserved for evening events, but this year, it's kicking off with a full slate of presentations and shows, setting the tone for a week of fashion frenzy.
The BFC has also waived fees to encourage participation and has doubled its investment in its international guest program. They're pulling out all the stops to bring the world's attention back to the British capital.
And this is the part most people miss... the LFW ecosystem is expanding beyond the runway. A new designer showcase at 180 Strand will feature 11 emerging talents, including Ahluwalia, Aaron Esh, and Nicholas Daley, who have previously been part of the BFC's NewGen incubation program. The showcase aims to foster stronger connections between emerging designers, the press, and buyers, says Weir.
Retail and cultural activations will also add to the buzz. From Selfridges' in-store LFW edit to a Dover Street Market pop-up featuring jewelry from the BFC Foundation and member brands, there's something for every fashion enthusiast. H&M Studio will take over a townhouse, and BFC patrons Topshop and John Lewis will host an event at Piccadilly Lights.
Familiar faces like Erdem, Simone Rocha, and Richard Quinn remain fixtures, all showing on Sunday. But it's not just about the established names; several brands are making a comeback, including Burberry, which will close LFW on Monday evening. Joseph is back on the runway on Friday after almost a decade, with its first show since hiring creative director Mario Arena in 2024. Chet Lo returns on Saturday, and Masha Popova, Julien Macdonald, and Karoline Vitto will also grace the LFW stage.
London's identity has always been intertwined with emerging talent, and this season is no different. Newcomers like minimalist womenswear label Selasi, women's tailoring brand Liberowe, and contemporary designer Yuhan Ao, inspired by his grandmother's work in a Chinese linen textile factory, will showcase their unique visions. Indian luxury brand Raw Mango, known for its saris and lehengas, is also joining the schedule, adding a touch of international flair.
"There's an undeniable sense of excitement," says Brigitte Chartrand, chief buying and merchandising officer at Net-a-Porter. "I'm particularly looking forward to the Central Saint Martins show, which is a February fashion week exclusive. Erdem and Simone Rocha are also highlights for me."
Beyond the runway, LFW's evening programming is just as enticing. Dinners hosted by JW Anderson, Labrum London, and Di Petsa, as well as a collaboration between the BFC and the British Film Institute ahead of the Baftas, will provide a glamorous backdrop to the fashion week experience. Knwls, which showed in Milan last season, is hosting a pop-up for its community, and David Koma is hosting a cocktail event.
"London has always been a cultural trendsetter," says Weir. "By inviting a diverse range of international voices to the city, we're ensuring that LFW's global impact continues to thrive, both commercially and culturally."
